Two weeks ago , President Trump spoke to the United Nations. He criticized that climate change was the "greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world". This statement quickly spread across the news.
This argument certainly differs from what most of us believe, but to understand why he said this, we need to consider the full context of his speech.
Today, many developed country have set limits on carbon dioxide emissions. As a result, companies are moving their production lines to other country with looser regulations.
For this reason, Trump point that the carbon dioxide we emit can cross borders and reach any corner of the earth. He said it doesn't solve real environmental problems . Worse still, it leads to higher unemployment in developed countries.
I couldn’t agree with Trump more. He always speaks about critical problems.
Besides the issue with production lines, I think products are also designed to be less eco-friendly. Ironically, we encourage people to recycle those bad product more and claim it is help earth.
We’re constantly forced to accept planned obsolescence, especially with smartphone industry. Some manufacturersban new firmware runing on older devices or release updates that slow them down, pushing users to buy new phone—even though their old one still work.

We keep buying new things, throwing them away, and repeating the cycle. Maybe what we really need is to reduce our desires and rethink how we design products.1
